Elon Musk plans to try launching a starship in March
Elon Musk says that SpaceX will try to launch its Starship spaceship in March.
Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, indicated that if all of the remaining tests go well, Starship might launch next month.
The launch will determine the lunar mission capability of the reusable spacecraft.
In March, SpaceX intends to attempt to launch its reusable Starship rocket into orbit, according to Elon Musk, 'assuming all remaining testing goes well.'
The CEO of SpaceX responded to a tweeter who enquired whether or not Starship was nearly ready for takeoff.
According to SpaceX's website, the launch will show that Starship can transport personnel on missions with NASA to 'Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and beyond.'
As part of its Artemis programme, NASA awarded SpaceX a contract for around $3 billion in 2021 to develop a commercial human lander for Starship to set foot on the moon. The Artemis 3 and 4 crewed lunar missions are scheduled to launch in 2025 and 2027, respectively.

Musk had hinted that a launch attempt would occur 'soon' and suggested that it might happen as early as the end of February or March.
According to government documents, the Starship test flight will take off from the Boca Chica, Texas, Starbase spaceport. According to the papers, its rocket booster Super Heavy will return to land at Starbase or in the Gulf of Mexico, while Starship will do so in the Pacific Ocean.
- SpaceX has yet to formally announce a launch date for the Starship, and the company did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
- In July of last year, a test of a Super Heavy prototype at the Boca Chica testing facility failed after an explosion and flames from the engines on the test pad.
- Musk tweeted after a video of the explosion went viral on Twitter: 'Yes, that's not good. The team is evaluating the damage.'
